WELCOME TO QUESTIONING FAITH FORUM!
This forum offers a place for members and attenders of Central Presbyterian Church (St. Louis, Missouri) to dialogue about important issues related to our faith in Christ. This is a space for people to ask questions and share resources and discussion about Christian beliefs and the practical implications of Christ’s mission for every dimension of our lives as individuals and as a church body on mission together. And as fellow members of God’s family, unified in Christ by eating together from his table, this is a place to practice extending that gracious hospitality into our dialogue with each other.
THE PURPOSE
Here are a few.
Meeting New People
We pray that the Questioning Faith forum provides an avenue to meet new people that we might otherwise never encounter in the life of the church and thus form new friendships and experience the community life of the church in a new way.
Learning From Others
We pray that the Questioning Faith forum is a good learning environment where we can benefit from the wisdom of others in the body of Christ about what it means to think and act in ways that are faithful to Christ.
Transforming The Ways We Interact Online
We pray that the Questioning Faith forum is a refreshing alternative to the unhealthy, angry, and contentious ways that interaction so often occurs on social media. This is an online place to be formed in the way of Christ in our online engagement, a place where we engage in healthy, respectful dialogue governed by the love of God and communicate with grace and truth.

Strive for truth and grace in equal measure.
Give each other the benefit of the doubt with generosity and sympathy, never forgetting that you are speaking to brothers and sisters in Christ.
Read sources carefully and learn what you can, even if you disagree.
Listen and respond to others with respect, patience, and love in the way you would want to be treated (the Golden Rule).
Focus on understanding ideas and solving problems. This is not a debate floor. You are not being scored.
Bullying or any other offensive behaviors that violate the forum’s guidelines are prohibited. Contact one of the moderators for help.
Maintain confidentiality. Do not share any material without the consent or permission of the author.
Seek common ground first before disagreement. Can you accurately summarize someone else’s position and affirm what was good in it?
If conflict arises, handle it in a manner worthy of the gospel. Speak directly to the other privately.
Be curious and ask good questions rather than jumping to negative conclusions.
